shocks and springs

Are there any benifits to going with stiffer shocks when drag racing? I know its better for road racing but what about Drag. Same question for lowering/ stiffer springs.

definatly. pettit has a drag launch kit w/ stiffer shocks and a less progressive spring in the back. the point is to not have your hood fly up like the bow of a boat when u floor it. just straight body, straight line drag speed. that is why it is common to see roadsters lowered in the front and not back, because the speed and power pulls the back down once moving, but you are faster if you start with your ass close to the ground.

The drag launch kits are toe link, trailing arms, & diff mounts usually--nothing to do with shocks/springs. In a pure drag race setting you want the car to squat in the back and not return weight transfer to the front when you shift. Do some searching on the internet to find out more. Look into compression & rebound of shocks as additional information.
