ShineAuto 99 front undertray does not fit?

Hi,

i bought the 3piece adjustable front undertray from shineauto and tried to install it today. i took of the lip and saw that the whole thing is way to long (longer than the front bumper) and it seems that i can't use my lip and the brakeducts anymore. that really sucks or am i doing something wrong? the wholes match ...

wolf_9782 04-04-10 01:02 PM

read the undertray thread at the shine auto section of the vendors sub forum. there is an explanation there. you're going to have to cut it. the undertray i believe is a perfect match for the FEED bumper.

unreal-icarus 04-04-10 02:32 PM

you mean the 93-95 bumper ...

Maybe i found my fault. i tried to install the undertray between the bumper and the front lip, but it has to be installed underneath the front lip. Hmm this lip also doesnt look like a 99spec lip. where are the vents for the brake ducts? or is it just the perspective?

I wouldn't be surprised that these parts do not fit. These parts made in the States are absolute garbage. Save your money and buy your aftermarket parts from Japan.

NO this is a high quality part. I have it installed on my 99 spec bumper and it fits well.

Hah, bro do some research before speaking ill of ShineAuto. U dont know what their quality look like. These guys are far better than any aftermarket vendors out there making reps that looks the same or works the same if not better than the original.

How do I know that? I've got the complete Feed and quality and the workmanship can be seen just by looking and touching these parts.

I am sure many people here who brought parts from ShineAuto will say the same.

Thats funny but you have no clue what you're talking about. :icon_tdow

Dont go on the forum talking shit about products you have no first hand experience with. I've had 2 FEED Type II R replica front bumpers and they both fit very close to OEM with minimal adjusting, I've had the FEED replica widebody front fenders, the CF FEED replica sides, the CF canards, and their low profile spoiler and everything fit excellent.

unreal-icarus 04-05-10 01:57 AM

@ David: did you install it underneath the front lip ?

Truthfully I can't remember! I'll check for you when I get the car back this Friday but I am pretty sure it's attached to the bottom of the lip like in the pic you posted.

unreal-icarus 04-05-10 10:30 AM

i installed it today, well it was not easy! the center part fits perfect, but the outer wings are about 1cm too short. i had to fabricate some aluminium pieces to get it held by the front lip. it's also a pain in the ass to get behind the front lip to apply the nuts for the bolts while installing the undertray.

papsmagu 04-05-10 11:31 AM

not everything that comes from Shine is quality. i have their rear diffuser and their sideskirts and like someone above said, it fit with minimal adjustments. i also have their hood and it sits in storage as it does not fit at all. here is how it fits on my car

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54...d/DSC07443.jpg

so i know what your thinking, your car has been crashed and its your car and not the hood. so i test fitted it on a buddy's fd and here are the results

so if you ask me....shine sucks and their customer service sucks. Again that is my opinion.

AzEKnightz 04-05-10 11:44 AM

Have you personally contacted Shine regarding this issue? Go onto their forum or call them directly. Emailing them will really delay everything. Because they have so many things going on and it is not easy to manage so many customers at once.

To be honest, there is ABSOLUTELY no business out there that can satisfy their customers 100% guaranteed.

And to tell you what they have done for me is:

I've bought an new diffuser from another forum member, but he somehow lost his hardware for the diffuser. I sent Ken a PM, and guess what? The hardwares showed up at my door in less than a week without charges.

This was before when I even bought my complete Feed Kit from Shine, and talking about customer service. You really need to know what to do in order to get the right service.

Hopefully Shine can take care of your hood issue. I am sure they are willing to go above and beyond any vendors here on the forum to make their customer satisfy.

service isn't bad, but its hard to contact Ken...

It's hard to reach him via the forum and email, but have you tried actually calling the shop? I know you're located in Germany, but give it a shot.

Glad to hear that. Hopefully you get a better fitment on the new hood!

vouch for shine!

Bought feed bumper / skirts / hood / fenders and they all fit well.

unreal-icarus 04-06-10 10:05 AM

i don't need to call him because the undertray is already installed. but as i said, it wasn'T easy because the side parts were a bit too short.

Ken is a stand up guy, got everything perfect and have zero complaints. Every time I contact Ken through e-mail I get a response within 36 hrs.

maybe you should try to adjust the hood latch

oppa637 04-06-10 02:00 PM

I believe the undertray is meant to fit the burnout front bumper perfectly... not positive tho

unreal-icarus 04-06-10 03:11 PM

i once waited nearly 3 weeks to get my emails replied from him ...
He said the 99spec undertray fits the 99 spec bumper, the 93-95 undertray was originally made for the feed bumper.

oppa637 04-06-10 03:34 PM

didn't know they made a 93-95 undertray

2RotorsNaDream 04-06-10 07:32 PM

Every time I call Shine I get straight to Ken no problems. Maybe I'm just lucky?

unreal-icarus 04-07-10 10:10 AM

I tried to call him a few times without any luck. Maybe i used the wrong area code - im not sure. Anyway, i think i would order from him again.

HEVNSNT 05-20-10 12:58 AM

How does the tray attach to the car? I can get the rear two holes bolted up but where does it attach to the lip? Do I need to trim the front of the tray?

Teerx7 05-20-10 02:02 AM

just an opinion and not ment to flame anyone but, all aftermarket body parts should be installed by pro's or at least by someone who knows what they are really doing....even the best fitting parts need to be adjusted to each own individual cars.

You don't just slap it on and call it a day and then say the fitment is bad...nothing fits perfect..not even oem parts, if you don't know what you are doing.

I've dealt with alot of crappy aftermarket kits and bodyparts working at the body shop and even recommend shine parts since I know they fit good, not perfect but good enough to make little adjustment. I give a two thumbs up for shine parts!!!!!

unreal-icarus 05-20-10 10:05 AM

i knew what i was doing, thanks ...

Bumping this before I pull the trigger on a Shine 99 undertray.

Does it need trimming or does it fit perfect on the 99 spec bumper?

Im curious about this too.

But btw there is a company LRB on ebay, that does laser cut aluminum, they have what appears to be an incredible solution.

Also, I have not noticed any significant difference between 99 spec and 93 spec undertray, so I assume its the same thing

Currently I have the Cwest bumper which came with a shine under tray. My options are

1. Buy the OEM 99 Spec under tray (waiting on a quote from Ari next week)
2. Buy the Shine one (I've read it doesn't fit bang on unless some cutting etc)
3. Buy a aluminum one from LRB on the forum.

I live in Canada so shipping is a factor. USPS or rape from Fed Ex, UPS etc etc

^ he's located in the wrong ocean, which like he said makes shipping and custom a...:ky:

I did found with time that UPS is the way to go when dealing US/CAN . It's s international company. Which eliminate the "middle man".

But many I read here don't like dealing with them bcuz of this and that .

I personally didn't have any bad experience yet
