And I have used 3M on a lot of different things. Just run it along the bottom of the entire contact surface and press firmly and evenly across the entire spoiler. Will hold fine.

kool 3mm tape it is then, might see if i can make some sort of thin mount has i have fears of some little prick stealing it off my 7. Bought from shine from USA to UK got Shine low profile spoiler and Sanai Works Rear Up Sweep Diffuser both parts in fiberglass sprayed black staying away from the carbon look £700 delivered shipping is a bitch

mainboyd 10-27-10 11:53 AM

cant someone then just walk by and pull it off with a good pull?

thats what i thought too, or at high speeds just fly off into someones car. because i had them stupid carbon door handle sleeves that cost me £90 put them on with tape and a week later blow off never to be seen again :(

HardHitter 10-27-10 01:39 PM

I have the low profile that I haven't put onto my car yet. Wondering how everyone also prepped it (that didn't get it in carbon fiber) Did you guys paint it flat black or what did you guys do?

Phaz 10-27-10 02:07 PM

im gonna spray the Diffuser & spoiler satin black

R26B 10-28-10 05:55 AM

Just wondering which 3M tape you guys have used, and if you have a part number for it?

Using any knd of double sided tape would be scary because 1. Anyone could just pull it of 2. It could come off during bight speeds 3. Become weak through weather conditions.

It looks good and I wouldn't mind getting one but I would first need to know if there is a better way of "slapping it on".

It's the gray double sided molding tape.

The 3M automotive molding tape is designed to be in the elements. Have you ever used it? It will not come off easily.

^ That's what they use to stick emblem on cars, you can't put it off that easy without a heat gun.

MR_Rick 10-29-10 10:03 PM

No issue using the 3M tape on my low pro wing. Used it on many things on the exterior of cars and it never has failed me. I used it to put a Home Depot lip on my Mazdaspeed 6 that scrapped on everything. The lip broke apart instead of the tape failing. I think you may damage the spoiler first before actually reaping it off in one piece.
