Shaky engine...Help????

Don't know why but my engine shakes alot during idle? even the car shakes with it too.. When I turn on my heat, I get this really rich smell like my exhaust??? my idle sits around 700-800rpm thought....

How is the idle quality itself? I have a similar problem sometimes in that the motor is actually shaking the car at idle but the idle itself seems pretty smooth.

I have the same problem. But most of the time the idle is pretty smooth. Today was a little rough, I dont know.

Idle is sitting where is surpose to be, but pretty rough below 1500rpm, sometimes it stalled so bad that it sounds like the engine's going to die on me, but never dies though... This really annoys me

Change your plugs and perhaps wires if needed. Then use some type of premix. If your seals are going out some Marvel Mystery Oil as a premix might bring back some compression.

I change my plugs and wire already. How do I use this premix thing? and what type premix?

i had this same problem last weekend, the entire damn car would shake in idle and it drove me crazy. if spark plugs didn't do the trick this may be the problem,(at the worst extent) because my spark plugs were also replaced and the car still shook. If your rpm's keeps fluctuating and stalls something is probly wrong with the rotor. and i too had a smell, it could be the rotor scoring the housing itself, if that is the case you will be unable to rebuild the rotor(no point to if the housing is trashed). good luck man, i hope it's not the same problem as mine, but if it is you can get a hold of me for a possible engine replacement. these are definitely the "love hate machines"
*another thing to note is that these engines don't give too many warning signs of going bad untill it's too late and it's dying on the highway during rush hour*

OH !! Almost forgot. Open up the throttle body and clean it out VERY well. In a matter of just under a year I managed to accumulate some serious carbon/crud. Be sure to open up all three openings and buy a new can of Carb cleaner. Place a rag underneath to catch the excess cleaner. I used nearly half a can until it began to run clear. Do this and IT WILL HELP. Also, the MMO can be found in any auto parts store and walmart. Just add 4 ounces to a tank of gas. I do 4 ounces to half a tank. It only costs $4 a quart. Try the above and post your results.

just put some MMO premix, it did help a little, I think? maybe i need a couple more days to notice the differance.

Have you guys checked the hose going to your MAP sensor?? If that thing popped off, your FD will run like crap. It's a little box by the throttle body. Check it out and see if there's a hose going through the bottom of it or not.

yeah the hose to the MAP sensor does it a lot, but seems like that is not it seems like you have motor mount issues I would get them checked out cause at idle it would shake due to this.
