I know sexy style Drift team is "well known"...but the drifters who are making a name for themselves on the D1 circuit with FD's are going towards the 500 rwhp mark...while the car's who aren't on the track(R-Magic FD) are still on the showroom floor. Besides, I'm sure you've SEEN the FC team out on the track...but how about their FD? Think if they have more power than stock that they'd be tearing shit up on the track right?

Next time you see them, tell them to come on down to Okinawa. No way in hell I'm going to out drift them with my drag suspension, but if they want to meet me at Misugama Lawsons...I'll race them zeroyon for their car title.

No doubts in my mind...They'd get OWNED by my little red FD.:D

If you look at the picture on the first post, the car sure as fuck doesn't have a FMIC, and doesn't look like it has a V-Mount either, unless they found a way to do a V-mount setup with a stock radiator. Since your in Japan, you should know that Nihonjin don't do the whole stock mount intercooler thing....probably STILL has the stock IC.

I'd bet my FD that I'd kill that car in quarter mile or road course.

Not that I don't agree w/ you, but wasn't the thread about the BODY KIT, and not that car per say? ;)

DaiOni 02-04-04 08:13 AM

And you'd probably get owned around the track! (circuit or drift) Horses for courses, as they say...

I've seen two of the SEXY KNIGHTS FCs in the flesh - not sure about the FDs. I've seen a sexy knights FD in feature - and WAS impressed. However, for good or for bad, it's hard to tell these days who is for real, and who is simply wearing the sticker ;)

The bottom line is - you can't, these days (in nihon especially), say "naninani car is crap because it 'looks' crap" - if there is no under the hood shot, don't make an assumption.

In my area I've nailed cars that should have kicked my butt - then been stomped by cars that should have been in the dump 5 years ago. That's life in j-land!

I never once said that the car looks like crap and will perform like crap. Let me make it more simple.

Sexy Style has NEVER come out with ANYTHING other than body kits.

Nobody says, "Man, did you see the new turbo that Sexy Style is testing?"

Nobody says, "You see the times the Sexy Style FD made at Ebisu circuit?"

Nobody says, "I like the new Sexy Style V-mount intercooler setup."

I ALWAYS hear comments on their body kit....good and bad. Did they SUDDENLY put on a turbo kit? I highly doubt it.

Fact remains that they STILL have yet to show their FD can do anything except win car shows for looks. When they DO start turning heads at the track, that's when I'll believe they have SOMETHING under the hood.:) ...until then, they are posers.

Can someone clarify for those of us who are still outta the loop what "naninani" is? And is there somethin special about Nihon (which I gather is a town in japan?)

DaiOni 02-04-04 08:38 AM

1. AFAIK, they are a workshop affiliated club - not a workshop - thus the above comments aren't that appropriate. If wrong, please correct me.

2. They are only semi-professional. Though they have done extremely well for themselves - getting into the D1
ranks (not with an FD though, AFAIK....)

3. Given the above - they've done pretty damn well to be noticed on an international scale - hey... we're arguing about them.

4. Personally, I've thought that their bodykits have looked like BN sports knock-offs (and if that front bar is any indication - c-west knock-offs too!)

DaiOni 02-04-04 08:41 AM

Nihon is japan! naninani is japanese for 'blah blah' or 'something...'/'something.or.other'

It was a direct comment to jspecracer7 - who, I assume, knew exactly what I was talking about

treceb 02-04-04 02:10 PM

damn im still pissed that i stayed liek a week in ebisu and didnt know they had a track till i came back to the states....(unless theres more than 1, i was in tokyo/ebisu, naninani.lol)

ohh yeah the lines of the car seem to be thrown off by the uneven lines the kit has...im sure the bumper with different sideskirts will look great and vice versa.

I think the fenders look pretty cool. Boy-racer or not, i would buy a pair. I think "boy-racer" refers to civics with Z3 fenders. That is so over-played. Do you realize how many awsome aftermarket fenders are out there for the RX7. I think "boy-racer" should be changed to "I-have-a-civic-and-really-really-really-hope-that-if-I-keep-trying-that-it-will-become-an-RX7"

spekdah 02-06-04 07:04 PM

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT WHEELS THESE ARE????

DaiOni 02-06-04 08:38 PM

wheels: look to be trafficstar DTS

jspecracer7 02-07-04 12:07 AM

workmeisters maybe?

DaiOni 02-07-04 02:56 AM

I think you'll find they are trafficstar DTS - unless that brand (or these ones) are a knock-off of something else

do a google image search for "trafficstar DTS" (I can't find an image that will link directly to here)

1QWIK7 02-08-04 11:44 AM

poorboybee 02-15-04 12:40 AM

Do you know Armando Fox or Scott Serface? Last time I talked to Mando (recently) he had his FD putting out over 650 to the wheels and we used to go to Mizugama all the time so you might see him there. I'm not sure what color it is now though, when I left Okinawa it was blue and he was going to Korea for a year. And Scott's took his FC to mainland after he won in Okinawa, that was back in '02 or '03 though.
