I don't condone driving such a low mileage car in the snow, but from first hand experience, I can say the FD is a capable car in the snow. I drove mine for a couple winters when I was in college and as long as you are a competent driver, it'll do just fine. I can't remember once when I was stuck so bad I had to find alternate transportation. "How much experience do you have driving a rwd car in the snow?" is the real question.

With the right tyres it could be ok, a friend of mine drives his 2001 RZ in the snow.

^ no offense to your friend, but maybe thats one of the reasons we dont like cars imported from Japan.

I guess what I was really asking is is it even POSSIBLE to drive this car in the snow. I.E, if I have to drive it across town or down the street to another garage, can it be done. I plan on buying like a 2.5RS for the winter or something, I hear they are fantastic. Of course I would never plan on DDing it in the snow.

As long as you have at least all season tires and the snow isn't deep I'd say it's possible. It will brake and turn as well as any other car on the same tires - you'll just have to be very good and smooth on the throttle.

I've driven on summer tires in the snow before in a FWD car and it was damn near ridiculous. I couldn't even climb the slight hill in front of the Hershey chocolate factory (for those who've been there).

i had to drive mine during a snow storm with summer tires... and my car is lowered...

i was going 35 in a 70mph highway in the right lane with the hazards on, any throttle input would spin the tires and any brake input would activate the abs, NOT FUN!

when i finally got home a thought it was funny that the front lip acted like a snow plow and the rad area was packed with snow!

hehe. i'ma get flamed on this.. but i bought my fd to drive the shit outta it. it goes in rain, fog, cold, hot, no snow in houston, but if there was... i'd probably drive it in that too. any car can do it, just as stated above, it's experience and commom sense. it's snowing... dont' try to be a racecar driver. :)
