Service parts.. off other mazda's

im new to owning a Fd, had her for a month now and want todo a service.. Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, plugs and air filter.. anything else i should do?

My problem is.. I live in South Africa soo we dont have rx7 parts available like you guys do in the states.

But i have heard I can use parts off other Mazda models... Does anybody know what models.. MX6.. 626???

if soo what compatible parts are there for:

Fuel filter
Oil filter
and rear brake pads

thanks!!

oil filter is a fram 6607 a 3593 or 7317 are slightly different size but same threads and gasket. a filter off pretty much any honda or newer nissan works

The plugs are rotary specific.

The stock air filter is 99% likely to be RX-7 specific as well since Mazda made a unique airbox for this car.

You can use rockauto.com to see if there are any parts that will cross. Drill all the way down to the part information/price level, then click the part number. That will give you a popup that shows everything that part is used on.

the plugs are NGK #5777 for trailing, #6917 for the leading, they're bur7eq and bur9eq
edit: pretty sure they're rx7 specific.

^ I think the non-rotary specific ones just require a thin walled socket. You can either buy one or take a standard socket and mill it down (that can be a little risky if you do it wrong though).
