Serious porting question......

Well i think i know why i might not be getting any boost. Well i do get boost but its on and off literally like a switch. When i ported my wastegates i ported both of them out. I ported the primary turbo and the secondary turbo. Now i asked a buddy of mine and he said that i was only supposed to port out the secondary turbo wastegate?? Is this true?? If it is then i guess theres no turning back now i guess i screwed myself up big time. I did all the checks i could have on the solenoids and they all passed. Pressure test, click test, continuity test and all. You name it and i did it. They all hold up to 15 psi with no problem and relase quickly once the voltage is removed. but anyway Hoenstly the only ones i have not checked are the two Green ones up front. The watsegates are not ported alot, i think there just right. I did the spray paint trick and just shaved off everything up to that line on both of them. Im just curious if this could be a reason why my boost is off and on.

I'm not sure what you mean On and Off...

you are not suppose to port the "primary" wastegate...which is the precontrol "gate". It vents boost from the primary to the secondary to pre-spool the secondary to bring it on line.

you might not be screwed...you can adjust the actuator arm to tune the amount the secondary prespools.

Also the two solenoids you didn't check...they are the ones you need to check. They are the WG and PreSpoolControl

but how?

I dont know if that can really be the problem because its technically just easing the stress off the wastegate???

the way I see it...your prespool is killing your boost of your primary, and over spooling your secondary and if you have flakey solenoids added into that equation...you have silly problems.

I'm just guessing here...I still don't understand what you mean by your "boost is like a switch"

Always check solenoids first. They will fix stock turbo boost related issues 96% of the time. Then go on to check all actuators. I can almost guarantee you didnt test all of the solenoids correctly, ie. baking them in the oven and the whole procedure.
