Sequential Simplification

Can someone who has mounted their pressure chamber in the location show, please tell me how you actually secured it in that location? TIA.

You mount it in the stock location, just run the lines from the places they show on the diagram.

I used one of the bolts from the blocked-off ACV and attached a bracket
then used the top eyelet on the chamber to bolt to the bracket
it just kind of hangs there, but since it is so light, it doesn't take much to hold it
I even just had it sitting there for awhile

Mahjik,
I actually have mine mounted EXACTLY like the pic
I think that is how Robinette explains it

Thanks. So it's not in the way of anything under the UIM?

It really doesn't matter where it goes as long as the lines running to/from it are the same. However, the shorter the line the better.

It does matter if you are actually trying to reduce the cluttered appearance of the sequential system.

Whether that box is under the UIM or in front of it has nothing to do with reducing amount of vacuum lines and solenoids (which is where the real clutter is). I've done the mod before on a few cars and its actually easier to deal with having the box in the stock location (IMO).

Please read what I posted... I said reduce cluttered APPEARANCE, which you do by removing from line of sight. I'm aware that to reduce the clutter you would need to reduce or remove the vacuum lines and solenoids, but if you really want to reduce the clutter, scrap the sequential system entirely.

I like it in the stock location as I can have access to all my solenoids ( 4 total) without removing the UIM. I also like it in the stock location better as it hides (visually) all the messiness and make the engine bay cleaner.

Nope, just mount it as low as possible - about even with the LIM

it does not really simplify anything
it hides the chamber better and, IMO, the vac lines are shorter this way,
but it is probably more of a preference thing

KX500FD Dec 4, 2006 12:47 AM

man, it was great to go non-sequential and chuck that ugly thing in the can

along with a few other parts ;)

simple is good

Monkman33 Dec 4, 2006 02:10 AM

Why is the chamber absolutely neccessary?

Cold someone possibly make something that looks better and fits somewhere else?

Also a personal preference thing.

GregFD3S Dec 4, 2006 05:38 AM

sequential, and simplification should not be used in the same sentence. :D
