Sequential or Non-Sequential....

This is not the normal "which one would you do and do you think I should do it" thread.

Basically I know everyone usually decides to go non-seq becasue their primary is broken on not boosting or something of the sort...

What I can't understand is that most people say that you get more HP from non-seq...how?

I just want to know how the heck you get more HP from running the SAME turbos parallel versus sequential....what's the physics behind it.... Someone, educate me in the ways :)

Maybe it's because I don't know how it works but to me it seems that everyone talks big about non-seq becasue before they were sequential but with a boost problem...soooo when they do conversion and the butt dyno says "God Daymn!" of course it's gonna feel like it kicks the ass of sequential. Does anyone have any results of running the same setup seq and then converting to non-seq and see any differences?

The turbos are operating the exact same in the highend. dyno charts have shown midrange gains. People probably htink its faster because their seq has been messed up and when they finally have higher boost levels again, buddy dyno "thinks" its faster.

When you do a nonseq the turbomanifold is less restrictive sincve you take off the flaps.

That is true, however ONLY in the case of the FULL NON-SEQ conversion which is documented here:

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/non-sequential.html

By doing the normal/simple/poor-man's conversion (something like on Don't Be A Rikki's site), there is no power gain. It only changes the power curve.

yes i know, i also think that if you are gonna go nonseq you should do it right the first time.

To all those that are running the FULL non-seq mod, did you retain the rats nest? I was told I could leave it there or remove it since it will not be used anymore. Thanks!
