Sequential to the Max!
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question or if it already in a different thread:wallbash: but i did search ..... i just love the sequential turbo setup:icon_tup: ...and always had a dream of reaching 400hp...or very close to it.. Whats the known max for a sequential setup.. any links or info would be great..
Thanks for taking the time away from working on your amazing RX7 and reading my post:) -Alex |
Search for 'BNR'.
|
Are you talking about 400 rwhp, or 400 hp? I think the highest anyone has made on stock twins (sequential) has been in the ballpark of 390 rwhp. I'm up around 350 rwhp right now on stock twins (sequential), so 400 hp can be done. However, I think 400 rwhp would be pushing it...In that case, you'd probably want to go with BNRs. Best of luck. :icon_tup:

Back on the old forum before it crashed(around early 2000), Michael Gurgainers(kruf), who use to do rebuilds for alot of ppl on here, dyno'd 401rwhp on stock sequentials. I saw the dyno chart on it back then, but couldn't tell you the first thing about it now. Don't know what conversion was used and I'm sure that played a part. I will say this...I did ride in the car a time or two and it pulled harder than any other stock twin car I ever rode in. I also saw it run at the local drap strip and turn a high 6 1/8mile time. An older gentleman in Tampa, FL purchased the car in 2001 and doesn't really drive it I don't think. I'd love for him to put it back on the dyno and see what the numbers actually are.

yes, BNR's are the biggest aftermarket turbos you can get while keeping the sequential twins setup
|
Wasn't there somebody on here making around 430rwhp on the sequential BNR's?

To get to that point your car WON'T pass smog.

Typically, you don't use correction for FI dyno's since altitude doesn't have as much of an effect as a N/A motor.

It is rare to find someone who knows that the SAE correction for HP only applies for N/A vehicles. I have gotten into so many arguments with people about this and even a reputable tuner insisted on giving me SAE numbers on a forced Induction vehicle I had. :wallbash: I think I read not to long ago that they are working on a SAE correction factor for turbocharged vehicles but they are not there yet. |

Once again, read my post above. About 380'ish rwhp is about all you'll see using the stock sequential system.
