Secure your A/C drain line
I'm in Texas right now at a class for work so it's kinda humid. Yesterday I took a co-worker to lunch then drove 3.5 hours to visit family. I was having an AWESOME drive thru the country and the car was running like a top...an absolute beast. About 20 miles short of my destination the knock measurement on my PowerFC became unresponsive and the displayed coolant temp fell thru the floor (which caused the wideband O2 to show richer and richer at cruise). I stopped on the side of the country road immediately to troubleshoot. As soon as I got on the passenger side I realized the entire floor was soaked and my lunch passenger had kicked the A/C drain line off of the nipple. I pulled the trim off of the Power FC and the lowest connector had got some moisture in it. I disconnected all of the connectors and blew them out and reseated them and the coolant temp came back up to normal. The knock measurement was only showing 1/4 of normal for the remainder of the drive.
So when I got here I pulled the computer out and brought it inside the house then dried up the carpet the best I could. I left the windows cracked last night and down all day today with a fan pointed at the floor. It's pretty dry in front of the seat but the carpet is still wet under the seat. Tomorrow I'm going to try to orient the fan to get some airflow under the seat then I'll need to shampoo it with an anti-odor cleaner.
So anyway...please learn from my mistake. Take the two seconds to secure that hose with a ziptie or hose clamp or someday you'll probably be sorry.
