Seat Ride Height

Having had a number of import racers over the years, I'm used to the idea that installing aftermarket seats and rails raise the seat height unless I custom make the rails. I always use recline-able seats and sliding rails. I recently read in the For Sale section that the bride seats and rail lower the seat height. Is this true for all aftermarket (Sparco, Bride, Momo, ect) seats and rails. This would make getting aftermarket seats more appealing since I wouldn't mind sitting about an inch or two lower in the car.

Maybe with side mount bride gias recline-able buckets and the low mount bride rails, but for the most part recline-able seats are bottom mounts and combined with sliders you will not be sitting lower than stock.

Unless you foamectomy the seats . which is what I did to my corbeaus

took the cushion and just cut a couple inches out form the bottom and its a big improvement

I'd like to know more about these custom rails you've made. How do they work?

With my MKIV Supra what I did was get the Sparco sliders without the rails. I then got four square thick pieces of metal. I had them bent to match the angles of the floor boards and make them flat horizontal. On one corner the floor was a little low so a spacer was added. Then I drilled and taped the square pieces to be able to screw the sliders to the square pieces. Then used the stock bolts to bolt the square pieces to the floor boards. The seat actually sat slightly lower than the stock seats.
