(Searched) rx8 e shaft in REW for long term

Hey I searched but couldnt find anything for long term information.

Ive heard that for every pound of rotating mass freed up feels like 10 hp

So Im thinking about ordering the shaft from Atkins, but I was wondering if anyone has like 10? 20? 30,000 miles on one? What are your experiences with it so far?

How much it feels like is dependant on the radius, in this case it's what, 0.6lbs less than an inch from center? You'll never feel it.

I think someone went over this topic. It's not cost effective and even with the "hook-up" the benefits are not felt.

Actually, the RX-8 E-shaft is DIRT cheap, like $180. That's cheap enough to consider swapping in and having a NEW part.

Mazdatrix has some info on their page -

You need to run the RX-8 rear gear with the E-shaft, but it's a good rear gear, hardened, set screw retained bearing, etc.

Well you can get a used e-shaft for 50 bucks in great condition. The weight savings won't be felt as it's in rotating in the center of the engine... In reality, you're shaving only .6lbs from the weight of the car.
