Searched but not the answer I wanted --Spark PLug Q
It's about to be at that 20k marker and time for spark plugs. Take a look at my mods and suggest the plugs you would use....also if i took it to the dealership would is the norm charge? and how hard is it the due it your self? Thanks
|
I have heard that it is good to change them every 10k or so depending on how hard you drive the car. I would still stick with the stock plugs 7's in front 9's trailing.
FYI-I would avoid the Mazda dealerships if I were you. I have personally had bad experiences with them. |
Yeah, the Mazda dealers techs don't know shit about RX-7's.
|
thats what ive heard --- i guy before said that the dealership couldnt even find them... what do you mean 7 in front --and 9's trailing...two different sizes?

Each Rotor has a leading plug and a trailing plug. For stock setups, they are different in heat range.
For your setup stick with the stock NGK plugs. BUR7EQP - Leading - lower plug of each rotor. BUR9EQP - Trailing - Top plug of each rotor. Its pretty eacy to do yourself. Just do one at a time so you dont mix anything up (disconnect only one spark plug wire, and remove only one spark plug at a time). The lettering is on each plug, so just put the matching new plug back in the matching hole. http://www.racingbeat.com sells them the cheapest I've been able to find at $8.25 each. Good Luck. |
thanks a bunch for the information.....wish me luck
|
Is there anyway somebody can supply me with a pic of spark plugs.. so i can see which one is the lower and top... thanks
|
Hmmm... I bought my NGKs at a dealership here in Atlanta for 7.75 each. Naturally each dealership has their own prices.

BTW, didn't see an ecu, upgraded fuel system, or intercooler in your mods. You are going to blow that new engine running a full open exhaust like that.

I rally dont get on it that much, but i will by the APexi PFC soon
|
autozone will have these right?
