Scraping Sound with the wheels/tires?

So this occured last night and I really have no idea what it was. The car has been sitting for a day or two and I go to drive the car and when I start driving I hear a screetching noise with the turn of the wheel. Whenever I'd brake it'd sort of be worse.

It was a sound of say a rusty hamster wheel going around lol. So descriptive but that's all I could think about. I go and check out the wheel and brakes and I didn't see any problems. I watch the movie, come out start the car and again it starts again and then about 1/4 way into the drive its stopped.

I don't know if it's because of the cold weather lately and the car has been sitting or what?

Anyone else have this before? I tried doing a search for "screetching wheel" but nothing was found.

maybe hitting the fender liner?

If it was hitting the fender liner it wouldn't be a high pitched sound, it's like as if a wire or something is screetching. I would also think I'd feel it in the steering wheel if I was hitting the fender liner and it was affecting my steering.

When the car was sitting, did it rain at all?

Sounds like the power steering pulley/belt/pump

Your rotors probably rusted a bit from sitting, and it took a few stops to rub it off. The pads very lightly touch the rotor at all times...

^^^^^^^^

Yup!

I had the same syptoms and it turned out to be a sticking caliper piston.
It then overheated the rotor, causing snall cracks in the rotor, which caused a
scraping noise.

definitely related to the brakes.

Yea the car was sitting and it rained. I was thinking it's just cause of the cold weather and it not being moved for a day or two.
