Safe to tow with a dolly?

I'm thinking of getting a dolly to tow my RX-7 back and forth to my tuner, who's about 15 iles away.

My concern is that since the car is rwd, it may not be the best thing for the car. Any thoughts?

This would be a great option for me, as I could tow the car with my truck and drive back home without having to bribe the g.friend with a free dinner each and every time to come with me!

if you have any sort of body modificatin or lowering over stock then no a tow dolly wont work for you.

i put mine on a tow dolley and it cost me 1600$ in body damage, luckily i bought the uhaul insurance ;)

If it's a manual, you can tow it that way no problem. I would remove the lip spoiler if you have one, and be careful of aftermarket exhausts with large cans - they could scrape rather easily.

Considering you're just going 15 miles, I don't see the advantage to hitching it all up and everything if the car is driveable. If it was a great distance, sure.

Maybe you just need to upgrade the girlfriend :).

I took my car from the twin cities to Chicago on a tow dolly with now problems. My car is stock suspension with 17 inch rims so its a little taller than most.

I towed mine on a U haul dolly recently and I did not run into any problems. My car sits on Stock struts with H&R sport springs which is about 1 1/2" lower than stock.
