?'s w/ o2 sensor, closed loop, fouled plugs

I have a single turbo, street ported engine. I have an emanage and e-01 to use temperarily, while i wait on the PFC. I just ordered the LC1 wideband but it hasnt arrived. Still running the stock fuel system, as I dont want to make too many changes until the car runs correctly. (no worries I'm not running boost)

Right now i just want to get the car to start and run reliably, it seems most of the time when i start the car i first have to pull the plugs and dry them off before it will start. Often times it also requires a rag with fuel put onto the intake. Generally this is only the case if the car sits over night.

My guess is i need more fuel in my cranking rpm's to compensate for the increased volumetric effieciency of the engine. (confirm anyone?) But under idle and light load the engine seems like it has too much fuel. It seems like it would be lean if anything. The narrow band o2 is new and located about 3" from the end of the downpipe. The rest of the exhaust is disconnected right now.

I was under the impression that at idle and light load, or cruising. that the engine was under closed loop opperation and adjusted the fuel based on the o2 sensor readings. If that is the case why are my plugs getting fouled?

Another thing i was curious about.. if i make adjustments to the fuel map cells at idle will it even adjust the fuel mixture or ignore my changes in the map because of going into closed loop?
Can someone tell me basically what adjustments become nessesary to the stock fuel maps under cranking, idle, and no boost light load when a street port and single are installed?

I have the ignition harness for the emanage, but years ago i couldnt get it to work and havent tried it with the new engine. I see no point since i will be getting the PFC. But this brings up another question. Does my timing REQUIRE adjustment with the street port and single turbo? I know for optimum power it will need to be adjusted, but will the stock timing work to run the car decently? Or could that be the reason it's reluctant to start and fouls out the plugs?

Sorry for the long post, I have lots of questions, and probably more that i cant think of, all i do is search the forum and read, somtimes its very enlightening and other times it sparks new questions. Questions that often don't even apply to my application. Anyways, if anyone can give me more insight into my issues/questions would appreciate it.
