When you get done with modifying the stock bracket let me know how you did it. I converted my lights a while ago, but never figured out how to modify the stock arm to only open half way. Right now I just manually run them up and down. My car isn't street driven so it's not big deal. Didn't feel like spending the money on the pivot controller. I am sure you are busy but if you get a chance pm me.

This is totally cosmetic suggestion with a bit of function and I'm not sure if anyone said it because I only read part of the first page, but I think you should put the projector on the outside and the high-beam on the inside. Since the low beam projector is what generally would be running, you'd want it to the outside (1) to widen the lit area, and (2) to widen the look of the car. It wouldn't look right if the signal cluster up front spanned so much wider than the headlights did. And if you look on many "sporty" cars with the projector/high separates setup like the JZA80, Integra, and BMW, they have the setup that I'm talking about.

Just to give another update, I now have time to work on them, but as anyone in Florida can confirm, it hasn't stopped raining for 5 minutes in a couple weeks it seems. Where I live we're getting like 2 inches or rain a day. Where there's a will there's a way though, so I'll get working on these things again ASAP.

We had a get together at N-Tech here in FL a couple weekends ago, and I tossed the lights on so people could see them and comment on them, and everyone seemed to love them. :)

That's exactly how they're set up. The lows are on the outside, but when I took the pictures before, I wasn't able to set them up that way. The lows WILL be on the outside though when all is said and done.

Those look awsome. How much. I don't know if I would want those or the RE Amemiya yet....but its a good race now.

Shooting for $600-$700, but we'll see once everything starts getting produced. That's what I've figured up so far though.

It has been a month, time for a <Ping>.

Perfect timing actually. I put them in the car yesterday exactly as I'm planning them to be when finished, and found a bunch of stuff that had to be changed around. I got mad at it and almost decided to just give up on it. Then just a couple hours ago, I was talking to a well known rotary shop (not saying who yet) about the lights, and he seemed interested in them and it's quite possible we'll be working together to get them finished and perfect very soon. I have to say though, when I put them in the car yesterday and walked away and looked at them, my face went from :mad: to :eek: . Good things to come. :D

If you don't hurry up, I'm gonna go outside and make a kit for myself! J/K!;)

Who wants an update? You? Ok here goes! I was given the go ahead to say who is helping me on the lights. It's Nick at N-Tech Engineering. I've been up at the shop everyday recently for hours and hours and hours building these with him, and they've already exceeded my expectations. I'm going to hold off describing them at this moment, but trust me, stay tuned for an incredible light kit in the next couple weeks. There's also a few options planned for it too for those who like pondering over decisions. ;)

Hey man, hurry up! Those original KnightSports lights are starting to look mighty good!:p: j/k, but I really need some new headlights. The plastic brackets on my stockers are all broken up the housings are just wired up in there!

I like them too, but I think that the offset should be a lot smaller than what you have now.

There is less stagger then in the pictures. There's just enough so that it's noticable, but not so much that it doesnt look right. It follows the contors of the front of the headlight opening perfectly. Take the last picture I posted, move the inner light up just a hair, and there you go. The headlight cover should also be a LOT lower then in the picture. We're trying to make it just about flat when it's open. Good good things coming very very soon.

looks awesome so far. question? how are you stopping the cover so it doesnt come all the way up anymore? Also, this kit would look very nice with the 99 front bumper.

Hi. I just wanted to give some insight as to what is currently happening with the lights.
First, I decided to take on this project because the lights are most definitely better than the stock lighting is. It is something that would certainly be of more than cosmetic benefit to 3rd gen owners.
As to the progress, etc.. In looking at what was happening, and talking about what Ryan had set as his original goals, we started from scratch, fabricating new brackets that bolted into place. The idea was to not have to mess with the original lights at all. Pull out the old, and drop in the new. Then the practicality of price entered, as well ease of fabricatrion, and as much as anything else, the time involved to complete the prototype, it was decided to use the mounting bracket from the original light setup. You still will not have to cut ANY part of the car, as this is completely unacceptable to me.
I've been asked for a date of completion, and the best I can offer is at least a month before a FINISHED kit would be ready. It is easy to get so far with it, and then the little details can kill you. Things like a fiberglass front cover around the lenses, working out the adjustment details, instructions, etc., all take time. We are getting closer to a working prototype now, but perfection takes some time. I am working on the mechanical drawings tonight, which should provide some useful progress. I still have a business to run, but I have been dedicating about 4 to 5 hours a day to this, about every other day. I also have a brake backing plate kit in the works that will allow use of dedicated brake ducts, for the stock brakes, as well as 13 and 14 inch rotor kits. All this stuff takes time, but it is coming. N-Tech's goal is always to provide QUALITY parts, without gouging the customer, so expect it to be a quality kit.

As long as it does not open too flat of an angle - somewhere between Mark's angle above (which is pretty flat hehe) and the Knightsport kit, which is still a tiny to tall for me.

Want it to look like a factory job, not like some rice boy mod.;)
