RX7 type R? R2? RB? X? Z? S?

I'm looking for a J Spec FD and the import sights I'm looking at have all of these different type designations. I assume that they are various packages, with R and R2 possibly being the racing or Hi performance modles. Also what is the story about the R1's I heard those are the ones you want to grab if your looking for the best performer. I will be in Japan for the next 3 years so I plan on picking up a FD there. Just trying to do the home work on what to look for.

R1 were made in 93.
They changed the name to R2 for the 94-95.

There is no performance difference between the R1, R2, or Touring issue cars.

How much horsepower does different springs add? You tell me.

Also, since these cars are going on ten years old hear in the states there is a good chance that the stock suspension is either bad or has already been changed out on any car that you will find on the market.

I feel that for someone shopping for a seven today on the used market this is really a mute point.

LOL you said no difference in PREFORMANCE!

suspension is a preformance product!

you wont take a turn at 60mph with every car!

My suspension is stock and its still fine! I have a 1994 rx7. still handles GREAT!
