rx7 shows well at indy race
I finally received the video of this well organized race which was held for 6 years at the Edmonton indy circuit. It is an invitational 50 car field of amateur club drivers . This was the qualifying race in 2009.
The#22 rx7 is a 1993 stock chassis with a 20b turbo built by forcefed and a jerico 5 speed. Other than some good shocks and bigger front brakes the car is fairly stock, and at that time was still driven on the street some days! |

Good stuff
The FD gets no respect but wins easily. The announcer 1st recognizes it as an RX8 LOL |
Rx8 what a douche, also find it annoying when they say Mazda with a short a sound. Maaaazda

Nice! Thanks for sharing

awesome!
but 20b turbo and "fairly stock" does not compute! haha |
Love how they say the car in second isn't as good in the corners as the "little Mazda" but it has more HP and can catch the FD in the straights. Guy needs a lesson in turbo 20bs :)

That was some awesome material, glad you could share the video with us. When he first said RX8 I couldn't help but laugh, at least he got it right the second time.

Part 3 at 5:25 or so...Try to pull a sneaky pass on the curb, you're gonna get fire spit at ya.
Go Little Maaaaazdaaa! |
nice!!

It was a lot of fun. I hope the Edmonton or Vancouver Indy race comes back one day. It was very special to compete there without the pro race price tag.

Was there another FD in the race? Light blue, Part 1, ~30 second mark
