 It all depends. Are you 6'3" 150lbs, or 6'3" 350lbs?

I'm 5'10" 230lbs (I know! I'm working on it!) and I find the car snug. It's a nice snug though. Not a lot of distance to the sides of the seat bolsters when taking turns.

Head room may be a problem. I've heard of other FD owners that are your height and they don't seem to have many problems, unless they're helmeted. A race bucket may help the problem a bit, if you're interested in that direction.

It's hella comfortable for me. I'm 5'7".

I own a 1st gen. and have ridden in 3rd. I'm 6'1" 167lbs. I am comfortable.

Chaz 02-05-02 11:37 PM

It is definately more snug than the supra. My brother is just a little bit taller than you are and has to tilt the seat back a little more for him to feel comfortable with the height clearance. Are you planning to race the car and need to wear a helmet? The seats seem to fit me perfectly but I'm only 5'11" and about 170 lbs.

mightyslash 02-05-02 11:42 PM

Damn you guys are tall

Qball 02-05-02 11:43 PM

you'll have an a little more headroom with a rx-7 without a sunroof.. i bought mine from a 6'2" guy.. his reason for buying the base model without the sunroof was that his head hit in the touring edition..

i'm 5'7" .. feels just perfect for me

martini 02-06-02 12:51 AM

it's a racecar cockpit. it's supposed to be snug. It's a positive, not a negative. It fits like a glove.

I'm 6'2" and 240lbs (yeah, mastacow, I'm workin on it too..:) ), I fit fine.

it IS a little tough to race, with the helmet and all, because of a lack of headroom..and my legs are too long to do a proper heel/toe manuever (instead, it's more like a toe/heel manuever). But other than that, it's great. I love it.

Passenger room is pretty piss poor though. I hate riding shotgun.

20b 3rotor 02-06-02 01:05 AM

is the steering wheel in the way of you guys legs? the celica is extremely uncomfortable...my thighs rubs on the steering wheel!!
(im 6'3" weighing 250lbs....yes martini and mastacow, im working on it too....trying to eat some subways instead of burgers and fries..hehe)

THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHOM REPLIED TO MY 1st QUESTION!!!

MastaCow 02-06-02 02:01 AM

Steering wheel is okay. I have monster thighs (Ice hockey) and i have about 2-3 inches of clearance. I can't do a full wheel rotation without smacking my hand into my leg but hey...that's unsafe driving!

I guess no one got the Middle-Aged Man reference...."what...you're looking at my gut! Well, I'm working on it!!"

(singing) He's Henry, Clay Henry...

Damn ... some of you guys are kinda thick. You'd think as difficult as it is to go through a drive thru in the FD that you'd cut back on the fast food! :D Lovely stereotypes, though.

Same size here. I find the FD quite comfortable but as previously mentioned, a helmet is not a good thing for me in the car. I tried autocross but that doesn't work very well when you can't turn your head due to a helmet. Drag racing should be fine, I don't turn my head much when I do that :)

1bad7 02-06-02 09:38 AM

im 5'11, 160lbs and its perfect

Turbo23 02-06-02 10:37 AM

You are talking about RX-7 right?

RX-7 != roomy.

I'm 6'2" 180lbs. I have not leg roomy at all even the seat is all the way back.

P'cola FD 02-06-02 12:20 PM

I'm 6' 175lbs and haven't had a problem yet. I've been on several 5+hour trips and find it more cofortable than any other car that I have been in, short of my GF's uncle's Mercedes. The car just kinda swallows you up.

djantlive 02-06-02 10:42 PM

The steering wheel is a little low for most people. I wish it's adjustable.

You should test drive one to check for fitment. Without your weight, it's hard to tell. It will be snug fit for anyone over 6'.

At 5'9", I find the steering wheel a little low. I can't palm the steering wheel when I make U turns bc the bottom of the wheel is too low. You can learn to drive with your legs apart I guess. Good ventilation for the boys...

Especially with the vent for ball conditioning.

Sorry I meant to quote

I need to get some rest.

JASK 02-06-02 11:15 PM

jspecracer7 02-06-02 11:28 PM
