rx7 hazard fuse issue

I have a 94 rx7 with a 99 front bumper and a 2002 cluster. I have had this setup in the car working perfect for over 6 months. Now I have an issue with the car popping the hazard fuses. The blinkers still make the blinker sound but the light does not come on.

I am not sure what is causing this. I can put a fuse in and it works when the car is parked, but as soon as I start to drive it pops it. I dont have any wires that can touch grounds or anything like that.

Does anyone have any ideas?

have you checked the wiring harness for any shorts?

Do you have OEM '99 spec lights or knock offs? I'd pull them out and check the wiring behind them. The OEM '99s spec lights require an adapter harness. If the harness wasn't made very well it could be shorting out. Also, work your way back through the wiring by unplugging components one at a time and activate the hazard lights. You can try to get an idea where in the wiring the problem may be.

I spent around an hour last night going through most of the wiring for the horn, hazard and turn signal lights. I switched my 99 spec harneses for my stock ones with no improvement, I also removed the front bumper and checked for any wires that looked like it was touching metal or out of the harness. I could not fine anything.

This morning I went to a local shop called Maztech and the owner Jeff has to be one of the the most knowledgeable individuals I have ever spoke to. If he doesn't know it he will figure it out. After about an hour of the car going up and down on the lift he found that the harness running along the front of the car behind the front core was shorting out. I took it home and re-wrapped the harness and everything is working like it should.

This was driving me insane and I am glad to be so close to such a great resource.

Thank you all for pointing some things I could check for, I always appreciate help.

ObliqueFD i have an OEM 99 spec bumper and lights and harness :-)
