RX7 FD3S engine sounds it runs with 1 Rotor!!!
 

I have took my RX7 FD to a Rotary Garage not long ago and they fully rebuild the engine plus the Twin Turbos Rebuild.
The car was running Fine the first Day then when I attempt to drive the car for a second time was misfiring wasn't accelerate right and was sound like it was running with one rotor!!!
I tried to start the car later on and it wasn't start so I gave up as I was worry to not cause a engine flood.
I am so sad , annoying and disappointed as I have spend ££££ for the engine rebuild and I cannot drive it!!!!!!
Can anyone out there give me some advise as I don't know who's fault is..the guys who rebuild the engine or an electrical issue???

why dont you call the shop that rebuilt the engine....

I'm not sure if you received a warranty with the work, but if it has only been two days I would take it to the shop where you had it rebuilt and demand they at least diagnose it.

Then, if they diagnose an unrelated issue, you can decide whether or not you want them to fix it. If they diagnose an engine issue, then clearly it was their fault in the first place and they should fix it for free.

first thoughts that pop to mind:

primary injector clip isn't seated well or the clip is broken and popped loose
fouled spark plug(s) (were they replaced during the rebuild?)
vacuum line came off the MAP sensor(this is very common on the FD and the car will run like total ass and have no power)
broken or stuck seals in the engine(as mentioned, this really should be a warranty issue)

I wanna throw into this list proper break-in procedure also not followed equaling engine death

it's rather unlikely that improper break in procedures would cause an instant death like this, unless the car was raggedly tuned and he pushed it to full boost already before the seals had seated fully.

Being a FD and only a couple days since he picked it up from rebuild, that was my guess. All super happy to have his car back and running, looks over at his buddy “lets hit some twists�

i suppose so, but i would actually assume other problems to be the cause, like a fuel system issue that was completely ignored as the cause for the previous engine to grenade as well as this ones untimely death. it happens quite often from shops that care more about money than their customers, or shops that really have no business working on antique force inducted engines.

2nd Gen FDs only run on one rotor.

Soooo... did you check those ?

I bet you it is flooded. New motors are finicky, well my experience at least with non stock builds. Do a de flooding procedure and pour a cap of oil into each housing. Start her up.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments, I cannot take the car back to them just because where I live to that garage its 220 miles.
what I did today I have remove the spark ugs and it seems to me that the one of them has crack on the porcelain plug..
I have order a new set and I will put them back on and try again.
I don't really know if the spark plug was allready crack or I accidentally I done that!!!!
