If you get desperate, I have a brand new in-the-box set of Mazda OEM injectors I squirreled away for a rainy day.

Hey guys,

Got the stock injectors finally. All the way from Japan and was a pain with USPS, but glad I finally got them. Will try to install them next week and then fire it up and see how it goes.

Cheers

HAHAHA!! Thanks for subscribing Boozer007.

I plan to get the injectors installed this weekend, time has been scarce these past couple of weeks. Hopefully I will be back on the forum with good news.

Cheers

Hey gents,

Update: Changed the injectors to brand new stock 550/850cc injectors. The car started and idled but still rough. I noticed that smoke was coming out the exhaust after I shut the car off. (See pic in next post.)

Does this sound like too much fuel? Even after the correct injectors are now in?

The next step would be to install the Power FC and go from there.

Are there any suggestions?

Thanks for the help guys. Appreciated as always.

Cheers

Also noticed this. DP to mid pipe connection. It was soaked. Not sure if it was from the previous flooding issue with the large injectors. But that can't be good 🤦

Looks like oil, not gas. Gas would not stay that wet looking.

True, good point DaveW. Now if this is oil, how is oil getting into the exhaust 😳🤦

OMP?

First off, that has to be the RUSTIEST main cat I've ever seen.

Running rough - was it running rough for a bit and you shut it down, or it ran rough for a long time and the engine warmed up? Could just be a fouled plug from short starts/troubleshooting.

Thanks Dale. The rust is from the stock heat shield and its mainly on the down pipe. Definitely plan to change in the near future lol. I actually had a DP but it couldn't work because it was getting caught up in the steering shaft, so had to resort to what was available. I assure you the insides are all good!!

It ran rough for a short time and I shut it off. It did not warm up at all, I doubt it would have anyway. I will check the plugs for sure, just ran out of time this past weekend. Maybe I will try clearing it out as well - fuel pump disconnect and pedal to the floor and cranking it over.

Thanks for your input Dale.

Cheers

Thanks tjdj009, at this point it cant hurt to do a compression check. I will do one when I get the chance. Need to borrow the compression tester equipment.

JUst had the same problem, with my 7. Not wanting to rev past 3500. Horrible break up , spurting. Looking at every system, ignition coils, fuel injectors, wringing. Check your crank sensors to crank wheel clearance. Mine where off spec. And when I changed them and got them to spec , it solved my problem. Full free reving , no more break up. Weight off my chest!! Thank you BANZAI!!

Ok some update. I did a compression check. All seems fine. Rear rotor: 97 psi and front rotor: 110psi.

Sorry for the bad angle and quality. But that's how the crank sensor looks. I will have to get a fielder gauge on it to measure the clearance.

Cheers

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where I can get connector plugs to the ECU? I pulled the connectors from the ECU so many times they aren't holding up too well. I plan to rewire some or all of the harness.

Cheers
