One Question, what is that crazy piece of plexigalss on the hood for ? Bugs ? It Certainly isn't aerodynamics...

you can tell they arent too concerned with going fast between the 6 " chunk of plastic on the hood and the 18" siren/light assembly. Geez they couldnt make some sleeker flashing lights for it??

The wheels look to be about 17's

still, everyday going to work would be heaven, you could rip on it and not worry about the consequences

They have GT-R and STi police cars as well... Anyway, the FD police car is probably pretty old and not in use much.

The light bar is similar to what was in use locally in the late 80's, so it's likely pretty dated even for this old thread. The center section that some described as a "speaker" or siren looks like a radar antenna...probably 'K' band. Looks like they ran a rear facing one as well. Back then they were stupidly huge like that and no room inside for it.

Sorry to bring back a zombie thread, but I just bought one of the rear spoilers the same as what is on the Police FD in the photos.. Whats the story with the spoiler? Is it called a 'whale tail' and is it aftermarket?

It is a 'whale tail' but not aftermarket. IIRC, they were OEM on certain models/series.

ive been browsing ebay and stumbled upon the model for it,its called" aoshima the patrol car" i believe,very tempted to buy

AFIK its the stock 96-97 spoiler.

so there are 3 types of stock spoiler, the 92-95 type, the 96-97 type, and 99 on

Cool, thanks. Nice to know what it is for certain. Wanted something a bit higher/bolder than the 92-95 type it has on it now, but not as big as the 99 spec.
