Rx7 FD Fuel system.....
I've been noticing lately that when i try to start my car it seems to be starving for gas. I have to pump the gas to get it started and if i don't it will bog down and die out. but when i do pump the gas it will idle smoothly at 1000rpms. my fuel system is a Walbro 400lph fuel pump.
any ideas of what could be wrong. New to fuel systems so im unsure if i can adjust the amount of flow to the engine. |
idle air control working?

without a fuel pressure regulator you cant change the fuel pressure. what you can do is try rewiring the fuel pump to see constant 12 v (bypassing the fuel pump resistor). after doing so, see if the problem stops. could also be a failing walbro

Are you sure it is not getting enough gas? It could be getting too much which is making the car hard to start. That would explain why you have to open the throttle a bit to let more air into the combustion chamber.
I had similar hard start issues. It turned out to be a leaky injector flooding the engine as soon as I turned the key on. |
Does this happen only when engine is cold, only when hot, or all the time?
