Rx-7 production numbers

Can anyone tell me accurately where the production numbers from 'turbo rx' came from? Dealing with R-xs for over twenty years, they are markedly different (lower) from what I've gleaned from dealers. Also...where did 'Chaste White' as a colour come from? I have every dealer brochure from 1979 on and there's no 'C W' ever listed as a colour. Thanks to all the 'True Believers' out there for their dedication!

This link is from Mazda USA. It is accurate.

13,879 3rd gen RX7s...would be so interesting to know for sure how many left in running condition. How many FD members do we have here?

there's a sticky at the top of this section with the number of FDs registered in 2005. That will give you a good indicator for the number that are left on the street. not including the ones that were killed after being registered in 05 or race cars or cars that are sitting in someones garage for the past 10 years.

as rare as the silver is for an r series model...
its the easiest to replicate without the buyer knowing its an actual silver r2..
cym on the other hand.. isnt

Heavy Fuel,

FYI the paint code for Chaste White is "PT." (There is no "CW.")

Whats the differnce between a 94 PEP and a 94 Touring?

rynberg 11-16-06 04:02 PM

PEP/PEG packages came with: leather, sunroof, fog lights, cruise
Touring came with: leather, sunroof, fog lights, cruise, Bose system, rear wiper

The Touring package was discontinued mid-94.

It appears the TR-A is the automatic trans and the TR-P is the manual trans. #'s match Rynberg's link. Both being Touring models.

so I guess the most expensive FD at the time is one with Touring Package?

wstrohm 11-16-06 07:40 PM

Our 1994 PEG (bought new) has leather, sunroof, and cruise control... but not foglights.

rynberg 11-16-06 07:57 PM

Hmm....either they added fog lights to the 95 PEP or it was an option, and not part of the PEP package.
