Running super rich

For the life of me I can not figure out why the car is running so rich. It is just puking gas and running really rough as shown in this video
. I thought I had figured out the problem when I pulled the injectors and found one leaking. I replaced it with another used one and no change in how it ran. I have looked and looked through a ton of threads and still haven’t found anything that has worked.

I thought of sending out the injectors to be cleaned. What sensors failing would cause this problem? Any ideas would be welcome, this is such a frustrating problem 🤬.

mods. Non seq twins, base map pfc, all emissions deleted, no omp, pineapple streetport.

Have you compression tested the motor?

yourmom23 03-10-19 09:38 PM

Yes it’s a new motor, it had 120 on both rotors. Just seems like for some reason something is telling the computer it needs a ton of fuel. I also tried my Pettit ecu with the same outcome.

Make sure map sensor vac hose is connected

KompressorLOgic 03-10-19 10:57 PM

yeah unplugged map sensor can cause this, it appears to be reading normal vacuum at idle on your handheld though

does your water temp guage on the PFC match what is actually going on? I see 8C, which is very cold, if the engine is actually fully warm, and its still reading that low, it would run very rich.

Speaking of temp. Make sure the fuel temp and water temp plugs aren't swapped. The connectors are interchangeable

yourmom23 03-11-19 04:31 PM

Map is plugged in, I have never heard of those going bad but maybe it is.

I also was was noticing the low coolent temp also. The car had been idling for around 10 min. I’ll take a look at the plugs tonight and see if maybe they are swapped.

yourmom23 03-12-19 07:33 PM

My coolent and fuel temp were reversed, still runs rich. I checked the fuel pressure, running it was about 30 psi. It also held pressure. So I think that rules out fpr and injectors. Still puzzled on what could be causing this. I also unplugged the map sensor and the car promptly died so I’m guessing that’s also ok.
