Running 15psi on stock turbos creep w/o wastegate port?

i know this may be a dumb question...but if you turn up the boost on the stock twins to 15lbs and run open exhaust can there possibly be any more creep above 15lbs....i thought this was about the max the turbos could push

very controversial topic my man.

matty probably has the strongest view, as he ran this way for years...maybe still does???

My thought is, there is enough exhaust flow through the turbines that WG can keep up…if you plan to run this way, I recommend a very good AI system.

The stock turbos can push more, its just that they aren't as efficient as the boost goes higher. Most people notice creep more when trying to hold the "in the middle" target values around 12 or 13 PSI.

The question then comes: if you creep the 15 PSI when trying to hold 12 PSI; then why not get tuned for 15 PSI?

Sure, you can creep higher, but your goal is always to be able to control boost; not necessarily "leave it where it lies" as there are many aspects which can increase your boost without the owner being prepared for it (i.e. a cold evening with the cooler denser air).

There is only one true answer to this question -- it depends on the individual car and conditions. There is no way to be more accurate than that.

so if im gonna tune for 15lbs i should definately just bite the bullet pull the twins off and port the mofo..cuz i dont want to be hitting 16-17lbs unexpecting

best thing to do if you want to run 15psi...is pull the twins off and sell them.

ur probably right...but id rather wear them out then pay for a single turbo at this moment im sure ill have plenty thousand miles at 15lbs
