RPM Switch, what wire to tap?
Im ordering the MSD RPM Switch and need to set the unit to come on at a certian RPM, Does anyone know what wire is the Tack wire and where its located? Thanks
|
maybe there is an ECU wire to my power FC that i can tap?

Yellow/Blue wire. It's easily accessible at the ecu, the instrument cluster, any of the three connectors in between, or probably the easiest at the diagnostic port. Take your pick. :)

;) yeah, I'm sure. The Y/L wire is the stock tach signal. It makes it way from the tranny to gauge cluster passing thru multiple different connectors and such. However, it's always a Y/L wire, which makes it pretty easy to locate.

next to the diagnosis is a grey box that spawns from the same harness. It has a blue wire with yellow stripe. Can I use that one? the part that goes to the diagnosis is heavily taped up. Also, is it blue with yellow stripe or yellow with blue stripe? Thanks!

Should be yellow with a blue stripe. I can pull out my wiring diagram if you need to know exactly which pin it is.

It's "IG" in the diagnostic box.
|
is that the same as IG -? Thanks for your help!!

No problem. :)
