route for power cables when relocating the battery

I know that quite a few people have relocated the battery to one on the bins.. I would like to get an idea on the best route got the power cables from the bins to the front of the car.

would someone have photos or a good diagram?

Thanks

I ran mine under the car and stuffed it under the protector for the fuel lines to the engine bay. Drilled the hole in the driver side bin. Works great so far and I did not have to pull any carpet.

My stereo installer (teamafx) ran my power wire for my amp through the drivers side fire wall, right under the plastic door sill, and back behind the plastic just above the bins. You can do the same with the battery cable, and he only had to peel back a tiny bit of carpet to get it done.

I drilled a hole in my firewall next to the throttle cable, ran it up behind the dash, out under the bottom din opening of the stereo, down the transmission tunnel on the driver side and into what is left of the bin.

I ran my power cables from the passenger side storage bin. I drilled 2 holes in the bottom to run the cable out, then took out the interior quarter trim, door sill, and passenger side kick panel, and ran them under the carpet. I drilled a hole in the firewall just under the hole where all the wires from the ECU run. Then, just ran them behind the motor unseen, and hooked them up. I didn't have to modify my storage bin, but I did need a smaller battery.

size of wire.

Ok next question.. What size wire did you all use? I was thinking of number 2. I know that stock is 4 but for that distance and amperage I was going to go with a larger wire.

i used 2awg for the positive and a strap for ground. i had started with 0 awg but its just too huge to work with. also dont forget to put a fuse near the battery.

I run 4, and you can run it under the arm rest from the bin to under the drivers side dash. I would suggest a bulkhead cable connector from summit part number SUM-G143. It is an easy location to make your run. You don't need too large wire, just make a solid connection from the battery to frame ground and to engine. I also like to use Dialectric grease on the connections.
