rough idle on cold start up....why?

when the car is cold, and i start it, it idles rough. almost like when i blew my last motor. but once it warms up, it goes away and idles fine. What would cause the car to idle like that only when its cold?

poorly tuned temperature correction map.

could the intake temp sensor cause it if it was malfunctioning?

did you check for codes? mine/all of them run a LITTLE bit rougher cold but nothing drastic, just some glugs here and there

sure...there is a fuel map adjustment for that as well.

if it thinks its 20F outside and it's really 100F...it would run really rich (just an example)

why? what'd you do to the AIT sensor?

only code it pulls is intake temp sensor.....code 11 i believe.. you can def tell its not "right: at idle when its cold. but runs just fine once the temps come up

could be code 22 (or something) fuel thermosensor. it adjusts the idle vac going to the fuel pressure regulator based on fuel temp. if fuel is cold it'll open the vac to decrease fuel. but really its used for hot starts. it blocks off teh vac for 60 seconds when it's hot so it runs extra fuel to compensate for the lower density of the fuel. i really dont know if it would make an effect on cold starts especialyl since alot of people get rid of the solenoid atleast when they simplify the vac system.

o nvm...i guess i didnt see the part where u alredy pulled the AIT code
