Just remembered, the only fitment issue was that my current strut tower bar didn't clear the new secondary turbo intake pipe, but considering that the kit wasn't built on my car everything else went together great.

I designed the kit to clear the R1 factory strut tower bar so you can at least use that. You can twist the intake pipe around and adjust it back for more clearance. maybe you just need to push the hard pipe back more.

On my site you can see it clears with the stock R1 bar.

Thanks for your feed back.

I really want this kit but its hard for me to wait on the 6 month list.

Dyno tune will be way past by then...

Yeah, but it's hard because of the price.

Spend $3k on the FD to make it a little better, or spend $3k into the GTR and get 500-550whp?

Ah, well dual projects is a different story. I have had a few of those at different times. I come to the realization that I could have two "good" cars, or build one to its full potential in looks, power, and precision. Ultimately, I chose the FD. I was tired of splitting time and funds between two cars. With work, and family it was just too much. Every FD owner has probably a 2 page list of things they would like to do. I eliminated other hobbies and "likes" for what was truly important to me. The FD has and always will be "the one". In the end, I found the sacrifice more than worth it. It wasn't much of a sacrifice really.

For your situation, it's weighing the options I guess. Either way, you can't go wrong with Rotary Extreme!! :)

FD ftw

You can sleep in a car but you cant drive a house - FD ftw ;)

Thanks XLR8 for the kind words.

This kit also will receive the new angle for my vm kits and a little less silicone.

6 month wait, well Im actually considering closing until all work is finished that's back logged. Even all the little orders takes time away from vm building.

Its a lot for 1 guy doing this as a part time business. :(

Well if you ever finish your backlog. Let me know. I skimped on a few body parts to accommodate this setup. Still might end up placing the order (eventually).

Rotary Extreme Sales 1 06-30-13 11:23 PM

I have to finish my backlog, Ive already tarnished my name by taking on more then I can chew at one time....

I think no new orders will be taken until 2014, that's how much work I have.... Hand to forehead.

I know we talked about some type of pricing but if you really wait that long you know I will give you some type of break. But I'll finish my work first.

Atleast Im honest about my situation....

I hate when I don't know whats going on with my stuff, Id rather know that the guy has his head in his ass and get back to me then to not know nothing at all...lol

V mount install

CAn anyone here point me into the direction of the correct install of this kit? this is all a received when i had bought it but no instructions were included so im just a little weary to install without some help

where the hell do i even start?

bend the A/C condenser?

where do the brackets even mount?

am i missing brackets?

P.S. this is supposedly a rotary extreme kit

Many thanks

ZumSpeedRX-7 12-14-13 08:25 PM

I called Ben earlier this afternoon, weird this thread this got bumped today.

Start with the radiator and radiator brackets. The angle of your radiator is wrong, are you missing the rack (for lack of a better term; two o'clock in your first picture with the two bolts)? The top of the radiator bolts to a bracket on that rack. The bottom of the radiator mounts to the tow hook brackets. Not sure about A/C installation. Intercooler is pretty straight forward off the elbow and y-pipe, with a bracket bolting next to the hood latch.

You may be missing a few brackets. Contact the seller and ask for pictures of his kit installed and confirm that you have everything you need.

You can check out this thread for some pics of my installation.

That looks like a Rotary Extreme kit. Ben from RE is really helpful and knows these kits inside and out, shoot him a PM.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions as you try to piece it together. Good luck!

p00shy 12-14-13 11:00 PM

Much appreciated! Ill be sure to try. the first picture is the AC condenser but ill be sure to use that advice installing the radiator!

Thanks

p00shy 12-14-13 11:05 PM

Yeah I Definetly don't have all those nice brackets. Just those two. Guess I have to custom stuff? Maaaaaan haha

Rotary Extreme Sales 1 12-15-13 10:04 AM

Sorry I missed your call Zumspeedrx7,

This is an older kit before I took over, there are different instructions and it does not have everything the new kit has.

p00shy... I'll send you a PM, email me and I'll send you the instructions for your kit.

Ben

No worries Ben - just wanted to see when you were taking orders again, you've been missed

Todays my B-Day.

I got myself a nice present.

Brent Dalton 12-15-13 10:21 PM

Happy 40th Ben!

ZumSpeedRX-7 12-15-13 10:27 PM

The divider's on my list. The current set up still spools pretty damn quick - I love my twins!

Please shoot me a PM with the details on what you recommend for that. I'll see if I can have it done locally.

I'm also looking to order a dual oil cooler kit soon. I was wondering if we could do some custom options.

Happy birthday bud!

I'll email you a picture of how to do it.

This is how mine came out. I've been running this setup for a year. It works great on both the road and track. I have an IAT gauge in the cabin and charge air is pretty much ambient while the car is moving. After 30 minutes of boosting through the Dragon, I put one hand on the charge pipe coming from the turbo and it was hot; the other hand on the intake pipe was cool to the touch. Coolant temps are solid all day long at the track and on the dyno.

The only drawback is that this setup still heat-soaks. When I come to a red light I watch the IAT climb. The temps drop back to ambient after a few minutes of moving. I think adding a divider plate will reduce the heat-soak.

Rotary Extreme Sales 1 12-19-13 03:14 AM

Looks great,

The divider we are talking about is for the twin track set-up, it goes into the end tank that the twins feed into. his kit did not have it but the others do now, it helps the pri turbo to pressurzie half the core on one side thus improving boost response..... verified on another kit.

the other owner said it boosted just like his carb leagel greddy smic, not bad for this core being almost twice as big.

at a stop well always have heat soak, only an electric fan will help at idle

Any estimated time as to when your website will be open again? You don't even have to take orders, just open the site so I can make a wishlist. :D haha.

Honestly, I think summer time. I have to redo the whole site.

Im no longer operating as a parts seller, CA taxes are alot. They do not tax labor. So Im basically operating as a contractor. In theroy I am not selling you parts, I am just buying the parts for you with your money and you are paying for my labor to build the stuff. I dont keep anything in stock and everything is made to order.

My newsite will reflect this. Also since prices change all the time with greddy/hks/apexi and other companies I am just going to have a list of companies I get parts from and I will list the base discount you will get. ie: greddy electronics 8% off list, all other 10% off list. That way no matter what their list price is, you'll know your cost. It will also be more simple. There will be the RE section and then the all other section. I am also bringing back the old sites tokoyo auto salon gallery and I will accept photos from other people to add as well.

No more body kit stuff, bummer.
