Rock steady idle, plenty of power, bad motor......
 

Recently after stopping to fill up with gas, the 7 wouldn't start back up. I cranked on it for awhile and it wouldn't start. I had to let it sit for about an hour before it would start. Got home removed the plugs and found the back plugs to be pretty covered in a gas/oil mixture. Put some new ones in, same problem. Pulled out the compression tester. 75 on the front 60 on the back. Well now i know what needs to be done, but here is the question. Normally wouldn't a low compression engine cause erratic idle and loss of power???? Especially with the variance between the front and rear rotors.

I have seen some pretty low compression motors that still run half way decent. While the compression is low, was it at still even? (all 3 faces on front even and all 3 rear even)

Yep, both rotors had three equal needle bounces.

Not necessarily…I’m going through the same problem with my 7. The idle was perfect, it made 475 to the rear wheels, etc…Hot starts were terrible though. It’d barely start, and sometimes it wouldn’t unless I let it sit for a few minutes. In my particular case, it was a bad corner seal...From what I understand, a bad corner seal (or bad corner seals) will cause hot start issues. Mine still ran completely fine though. You may be experiencing the same thing…
