Is this the right stuff? (block seal)
 

I didnt see anything called Block Guard at my local auto parts store. But I grabbed some Block Seal (says CRC at the bottom and K&W at the top)
Its about the size of a beer can and its copperish in coller when I opened it.
I looked for the Castrol brand but they didnt carry it.

Just want to make sure I got the right sealant. Although it should do the job, I want to make sure.

That's the stuff I used on my old motor; worked great. Just follow the instructions to the letter and completely flush out the old coolant. I had to fill/drain the block about 6 times before the coolant was absolutely all gone.

Should be called crc blockweld. Sounds like you found the right stuff. I saw it at Pep Boys the other day.

CRC Block Weld is what you want. Comes in a clear bottle. Make sure you clean out your system with Purple degreaser and flush it completely by running a garden hose through it for about 15 minutes. Seal it up, start it and let it get warm, and drain. Do this 3 times. You need to circulate the degreaser and fresh water rinse all the way through the block, heater core, etc.

The Block Weld will not "stick" unless it is really clean.

Oh, and DO NOT put antifreeze back in, use Distilled Water and Water Wetter. And don't forget you have no freeze protection next winter....;)

You'll probably plug up your heater core as well.
