Rich mans non sequential pictures
Here are pictures of the individual hot side housings, center housing and manifold pictures after David Garfinkle performed his rich mans non seq mod. All parts were ported, gasket matched and the wastegate is 1.3" now.

At what rpm do you hit full boost now?

EDIT: I just read the other thread, and I think I may just have the full... what is the difference between the rich and full? |
wow that looks like it was a lot of work, nice job. What are you a/r's.
|
I JUST took pictures 1/2 hour ago. I have NO IDEA what rpm I see full boost. I won't for a while as I am shipping the above pictured items off to be ceramic coated.
As far the a/r's, again, no idea. All I can tell you is that I will be using the stock turbos. |

The difference between rich and full non seq is the reason I posted this. They are the same except when it comes to the turbos. You have to completely modify the manifold and housings to complete the "rich" conversion, otherwise you are only "full".

Looks like a lot of work but it looks great. Better than I did with mine for sure
|
I need to get my WG ported. I need to get block off plates. Ugh.
|
I hope after all that work you plan on running bnr twins. Would be a waist to run the stock twins in my opinion.
|
The wastegate is open to 1.350 to be correct .The before picts tell the rest of the story .The repair of all those cracks is a large part .I have before picts if I can get them put on here .

My turbos ,BNR s are not like any others so you can not compare apples to oranges . Next time I take the car out I will try to see where the tach is when 17 psi hits,in several gears .

I want to just cut this entire section out on both the engine side and turbo side manifolds. Seems easier and provides less restriction, right? |
You need to guide the gasses into the turbo exhast port ,not from the prespool port .The prespool port is at an angle to the main flow in the sec turbo and will disturb the flow. the prespool port in the sec hot side is closed off in this job .For best flow the large port in the main manifold should be closed off to match the hot side port. This would take a good deal of fab work and welding .The cost will be restrictive . This system works well for the time spent, better than stock . The next step for my car is making a main manifold with with tubes from the motor to the turbos ,no chambers .I like the BNRs supersized better than a single so the homemade manifold is the next step .

I'm stocked that this is considered the rich mans non-seq. There's still a ton of room for improvement of the runner passages. |
To the original poster, please be sure to do a complete review of this setup after it's installed. Were you using the twins with the poor man's non-seq before this? And did you have the Y-pipe modified by Garfinkle?
I actually thought about making a manifold for the stock twins from scratch the other day. So I'd love to see your progress as you do this, Garfinkle. BNR has a non-seq option when you buy their turbos. So when you buy their turbos for non-seq, is it just the full nonseq or are their further modifications done like this? |

It would be awesome to see a dyno comparison between full sequential and best possible non sequential (be it this setup, or this setup with a custom tube manifold match ported to the turbo's for more balanced and better flow.)
I would love to see what the difference really is. If you could have full boost (17 psi) by 3500 then I would do it in a second. |

The cost and labor of doing the TON OF WORK to the runners would be a great .I know what to do ,but who would pay the amount to have it done . How much do you charge to do that job ? I think I am going to make a manifold from scratch to correct that problem .
