RHD FD electrical problems
 

so i bought a 93 rx7 that had a complete jdm front clip conversion done on it including rhd, but was a shell. I put the car back together, and when it came time to start it, the car would only turn over, but would never catch. I was looking through the dash wiring and found that i have no power to several of the fuses under the dash, which includes the engine fuse not working, nor my instrument cluster lighting or cd player wiring. I have been hunting for a jdm dash harness with no luck, and im on a island in alaska so parts or a decent auto shop are not available.
My question at this point is can i take a usdm dash harness of the same year fd, and extend the neccessary wiring to make it function on a rhd setup? i dont really wanna sell the car, and a new jdm half cut is not in the immediate future as shipping to get it here is pretty expensive. any helpful input would be greatly appreciated.

correction on that last post i got it started once. but after that nothing else. also when i went to inspect my old fuse panel, small traces of water poured out of it, since then i have replaced the whole fuse panel but still not seeing any power to those fuses. thanks again

It sounds like you have at least one relay that is not turning on. That isn't too hard. You just need to check the relay to see if it is getting switched power when the key is turned to accessory.

And you'll need the JDM wiring diagram to do this. Search "FD3S 配線図" on google and look for pictures, when you find something useful you can use google translate. Most of the wiring diagrams will use the standard method for coloring of wires and the numbering of pins. If you can't figure out what the plug or module is in the wiring diagram, you'll have to learn to read katakana. There's no way to translate an image and unless you have someone who can read katakana with you, you'll never know what it means.

Katakana is pretty easy. It's the Japanese writing system used for foreign words so most of them are words you know, written in Japanese. There's 46 characters so you can just print off a sheet of the characters and their corresponding English sounds. Then you can sound out the word piece by piece and try to make sense of it. You might have to think like you are listening to a Japanese person with a really bad accent. Make sure you study the writing system carefully though because there are tricky things in it like "long" sounds and hybrid sounds.

The module is fan controller. The second character is smaller, so you combine the two sounds. It's a "Fan" sound together, but the two characters individually are "Fu" and "A". Also you'll notice the second to the last character is just a dash, it means that the character before it is long "Ro" followed by the last character "Ra" So it's like Fan Controora
Like I said really bad Japanese accent. It's the language, not the people.
