RHD clutch master cylinder the same as LHD?

Anyone know if a RHD clutch master cyliner is The same as a LHD?????

I would think so. The JDM transmissions and clutches are the same as ours. The clutch slave cylinder must have a longer and differently routed hard line that would mate up with the master.

I assume you have a JDM car. Look at the routing of the soft hose and compare it to a picture of a LHD FD's clutch master. Search a pic of one on the google.

The JDM master cylinder has mirrored fittings, but the reservoir is the same. You can go compare these pics to the master on your car.

i think he said he was talking about the clutch master not the brake master ... the clutch master is this piece

RotaryRX-007 04-06-11 12:36 PM

Yeah, it says clutch master.

The OP'er seems pretty excited about the pictures so maybe he confused brake and clutch masters?

Clarify?

yup, sorry didnt look at the pics, just posted a quick reply lol....

Looking for Clutch master, my rhd doesnt have a reservoir on the top...so im pretty sure they wont interchange

zxrazorxz 04-06-11 06:44 PM

the clutch master i pulled out of a lhd doesnt have a resivoir either.. :S.. seriously it looks exactly like the one i circled in the picture. and i know thats not the slave cylinder because thats on the tranny.. so maybe the pics of that are of a later generation?.. (duh it says the jdm pictures are from a 2000).. comon if you want ill take pictures of the one i took out of the lhd fd.. im 100 percent positive its the same.

Does anyone know if the clutch hard lines are different for lhd and rhd? Im trying to find the correct hard lines for my 92 rhd

So will a rhd CLUTCH master cylinder fit a LHD FD?

No doubt bolt centres are the same, different part numbers suggest there's something unique to left and right.....and the plastic inlet, if the flange is rotated 45 degrees toward the centreline in a mirror image to the rhd, would put it at the bottom of the master cylinder, making it a challenge to bleed.

If the bloke one above hasn't worked it out after 2 years, only the bellhousing to slave hardline will match!
