Rex Lives Again!``

Well, in case any of you remember, i bought a 94 mb and a week later it just died. Something about side seals going out. So, I bought a new engine from Mazda and put it in (boy was that hard.......)

Anyway, he runs! Any recommendation on breaking it in. I've heard 100 then oil change then 500 and oil change. Any recommendations? Also, that coolant level senser keeps buzzing but it's got pleanty of coolant. The wire looks bad, so I just found that buzzer and took it off (VERY HARD TO FIND....)..

any recommendations about that too./

I think you can treat the breakin period like a normal car. According to the 94 owners manual it requires No special break in. I would not run it hard for first 1000 miles though, but thats just me.

Was it a NEW engine? or Remanufactured engine?

If I can ask what does a NEW engine cost (engine and installation?) from the dealer

Stay under about 4k rpm for the first 1000 miles I believe. After that continue to be gentle with it. Mine took about 4k miles to get completely broken in to where I felt safe at WOT

engine was about $2k and installation with new hoses, sensors etc. runs the grand total to around $5k

it is a reman. I payed $1800 for the engine and $300 for a gasket set, plugs, etc. I put it in myself, so no labor. Maszda was expensive, though.
