Take it back to whomever replaced your engine and tell them to fix the idle.

If you have no idea what you are doing (as you indicated in your first post), you will probably make things worse if you mess with it on your own.

Who did your rebuild?

mrjeffr0 05-25-08 08:24 PM

well im not a complete numskull, im just not too familiar with rotarys as i should be nor where things are located like the tps and vacumm lines i should look at. . . .guess i should do more research. this is my 3rd rx7 i should probably know more about these things.

atkins did the rebuild.

I didn't mean to imply that your a complete numbskull. :) I was merely trying to point out that an engine builder should be responsible for making the car run properly before delivering it to the customer. Messing with it before taking it back might give the engine builder a reason to refuse a fix under warranty.

With that said, you should start with the easy stuff. Check for vacuum leaks, and disconnected hoses. Check your throttle cable, and make sure its adjusted properly. You can mess with the idle screw under the intake elbow, but I would check the other stuff first.
