Restricted Exhaust ?

I know what a piston engine sounds like, but a rotary I'm not sure? My FD is underpowered and is making a totally different intake sound on excel. I have a new reman and it was running rich as hell in the garage. It first sounded fine and rev-ed up great but now the intake sound is totally different. I did see the pre cat glow red a number of times. I have the pre cat off and really just want an openion on this.

The basic concept is when an exhaust is restricted the combustion explosion will head through the exhaust pipe and backup there. The intake tone or pitch will change and with a turbo you may see exhaust gas come out of the output side of the turbo. With a system thats together you can put a pressure gage and measure back pressure. I look at anything over 1 psi to be suspect. Since my engine is not running well I didn't want to run it anymore so I removed the pre cat. I could have tested it but I really jumped the gun and now its apart, thus the question. With a restricted fuel system it the intake tone/sound will change but not with the same exhausting tone. John

There still isn't a question in there.

LOL are you preaching something or trying to ask a question??

I see you don't know enough yet about engine performance to grasp the question or the explanation. I am new to rotaries and needed a response from someone who knows rotary systems well, along with conventional engine performance. Let someone answer who can add to the subject.
