replacing the stock fuel line btwn the 2 rails while retaining the airpump-doable?

I want to replace the stock fuel line that runs between the primary and secondary rail with a SS -6AN line. I was playing around with a bunch of line ends (45, 90 120degree bends) and it doesn't look like I can create a loop that is small enough to fit if I retain the airpump.

Has anybody upgraded this line while retaining the airpump and stock seq control system? If so please let me know what line ends were used.

Why bother?

Buy the fuel recall kit and get all new fuel lines, clamps and injector seals for $79 or so.

I am eliminating my fuel puslation damper and replacing my stock FPR with an aftermarket unit. Therefore, I have to replace at least some of the lines with non oem stuff. I guess I could mix and match(rubber in the front ss in the back) or just use rubber lines, but I'd prefer to use ss all around. As your signature says, "do it right, do it once" :)

CCarlisi: I have the exact same question.

Additionally, are you planning on running both lines out of the rails into the aftermarket FPR (what brand/model?) separately, then one line back for the return?

I assume you are getting a FPR that acts as a FPD. Will one FPR act as a damper for two lines?

I believe the stock system is setup as follows:
[fuel pump]====[pri rail][fpd]===[second rail][FPR]===[return line to tank]

I am planning on doing the following:
[fuel pump]====[pri rail]===[second rail]==[fpr/fpd]===[return line to tank]

I am using a SX FPR. It is the smaller of the two they offer.

You raise an interesting point about the damper. As the stock diagram indicates, the damper is positioned before the secondary rail. I assume this allows it to smooth out the pulses created by the primary injectors firing before the fuel enters the secondary rail. According to SX, their FPR also functions as a damper. However, if it is located after the secondary rail, which is customary, I don't see how it could shield the secondary injectors from the pulses created by the primary injectors.

I think the only way you can shield the secondary injectors, if they are run in series behind the primaries, is by installing a fpd in between the two rails.

Maybe I should leave the stock fpd in place (boooo).

Will one FPR act as a damper for two lines?
I'm not sure.

The other thing I'm concerned about is how far the SX regulator is from the rails compared to the stock FPR, which is attached directly to the secondary rail. I imagine that changing the distance from 0 to a couple feet would worsen the response time of the FPR to changes in pressure.

We still haven't heard from anybody that has upgraded their fuel lines while retaining the airpump. If anybody knows what fittings I should get please speak up, I need to order parts on monday.
