Replacing front bumper's reinforcement bar

Anyone ever done this? Are there any tricks? Is it a one man job, two man, twenty man?

It's pretty easy. The rebar is light and secured with a few bolts, the hardest and most time consuming part of the job is bumper removal.

How tough is it to remove the bumper and how long does it take?

pretty simple...

bolts to remove the polyurethane bumper up top...depending on if your stock or not....just some extra things to unbolt.

Then the four nuts that hold the bumper....for me the easiest way to get to those is to undo some of the screws for the fender liner and undo them....they are on the right and left end of the bumper. After that the bumper should come off. Then there are just six bolts to take off for the rebar. If you have stock fogs...just unplug the main connector (right in the center of the front frame).

Oh....takes 15 min once you have done it....really.

OK, thanks. I must replace the reinforcement bar with a Canadian part because I am importing it from the US. The local shops want $1,500 to do the work. The replacement part costs about $600. I figured the labor shouldn't be that much.....

They were definitely trying to rip you of there.
