Replaced fuel filter AND...
I'm trying to figure out if this is a mental trick or a real possibility:
I had the fuel filter replaced. Before, when the car was a little cold (after idling at least a minute), I was having a problem with the turbos not coming in under normal acceleration. Now they seem to be fine, I haven't had them not come in yet. (And the weather has gotten colder.) -C |
could be the filter was really dirty/clogged. now go get some fuel injection cleaner (that Techron/Chevron) stuff and run it to try and clean up injectors.

Thanks,
It probably needs it (not that I don't take car of her, I just haven't had her for many miles.) -C |
does that stuff really work?

Originally posted by bajaman The way I see it, it can't hurt. I run a bottle of Berryman's plus a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil in my car every other tank of gas. I really think it helps, I've got about 20K miles on my latest set of plugs and they look brand new still. |
I can't think of any way that your fuel delivery would affect whether your turbos spool correctly or not. Do you have some sort of aftermarket ECU or knock sensor?

911GT2,
No, all stock here. Although about ten minutes after I made that initial post, I had a bottom out; no primary turbo. It comes back in after the stop and start up; and the secondary turbo always comes in. I figure it's just cold, and old. Also, I didn't mention that when the turbo fails to come in, I top out at around 4k rpms (I'll have to check that again though to be sure). -C |
