removing wastegate pill = 9psi?

After I installed a downpipe I was having boost issues and getting 12psi+ so I made dual DIY MBCs and hooked them up. The spring I have in them is too strong so on the wastegate MBC I just took the ball and springs out until I can find a better spring. I was under the impression that if there is no restriction to the wastegate actuator than the car will default to 7psi. Im getting about 9psi right now... is there something wrong with my wastegate or actuator or something? Or could this just be caused by the extra length of hose added to the system?

On another note when my boost was going higher than 12psi I didn't get fuel cut. Why would that be?

Just like the stock boost control, removing the pill will produce a different boost depending on your flow mods. I get around 9psi.

Ok cool..... just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong. Thanks Dave.

if your on the stock ecu keep it at the 9 psi mark! so you will be ok on cold days with small spikes. you don't want to go over 10 psi on the stock ecu.

You don't usually see fuel cut until very high rpm in 3rd or 4th gear.

yep thats the plan

Oh ok... for some reason i thought there was a preset fuelcut for 12psi no matter what rpm.

Fuel-Cut Boost vs RPM

PSIA = Absolute pressure
PSIG = gauge pressure at sea level

RPM PSIA PSIG
