Removing my motor(Help)
 

I feel like I have just unleashed a nightmare. I have removed most everthing except the kitchen sink. All I think Im lacking are the transmission bolts and motor-mounts. I have been thankful that Shane from Rotary Works is going to street port it and rebuild the engine for about 1900.00 give or take a couple 100.00. Shane has been a big help in my decision to let him build it for me. He even told me to pull the engine myself if able and drive it to him in Jacksonville Fl. and I can watch him pull it apart so I can see what went wrong.VERY NICE GUY.

I would like advice on cheap mods since I have engine out already to improve a little performance. Will I have sensor problems if I do away with polution pump?Anything very important to remember when reinstalling motor?ect...ect... Thanks, Joe

remove rotary, install LS1. thats my advice as well as the route i went.

In reguards to the engine pulling. You dont have to remove the tranny from the engine. I (both times) removed everything, driveshaft,wiring,oil cooler, turbo, IC, radiator, PS, A/c, other misc wires/hoses and pulled upper intake manifold. Then connect the chain from a tranny bolt above the starter more or less, then from the eyelet where the A/c compressor was. Gives the chain a diagonal position, but balances everything nicely. Then remove your PPF and both engine mount nuts. When pulling the engine out, get the two engine mount studs up and out of the subframe first. then lift the engine/trans straight up so they clear the whole subframe and weasel the whole assembly towards the front of the vehicle. once it clears, angle the tranny to the ground and keep lifting it all out. works like a charm. The car itself needs to be fairly high in the ait for it to work properly. Took me 1hr & half flat the second time around pulling my engine. I had a single turbo, no PS or AC though, nice and simple, they way i liked it.
Now its even better! no rotary motor!! hope you actually get some usage out of your new engine!!! only received 4k miles from mine:mad:

What ECU are you running or going to run. ( i say this cause you mentione dstreet port) If you have an ECU already you should be able to remove all emissions crap with no problems.( Like with the PFC that i have) Also There have been many posts aboout peolpe who have street ported with the stock ECU and have running issues ( not trying to start a war, just prevent repeat posts) I recommend the PFC/commander since you know you will want to upgrade more in the future anyways.

Put some stainless oil metering pump lines on the engine.100 bucks from Gotham and cheap insurance that your apex seals will get the needed oil they like.Plus they won't get brittle and crack when you look at them funny!!If you remove your air pump you might as well get a pulley set. and remove the a/c while your at it.( power steering is an option but I like it)

drill larger coolant passages in the housings , it will aid with some cooling
