Removing center console controls
 

I’m trying to remove all the controls from my center console, so I can get the panel repainted. I got all the obvious retaining screws removed but the block of climate controls doesn’t just pop off. There is at least one screw thst is holding a switch down that I can see, but itpulls when I try to remove the bulk of the controls. Is there a hidden screw? Just really strong clips? Something breaks when I take these panels apart so I’m trying to not be too aggressive.

I’m sure there is a thread for this on here but I couldn’t find anything through a few searches. if anyone can point me to one or provide some recommendations - greatly appreciated.

There are a number of tiny screws that holds everything in so make sure you are not missing any. You also need to remove the three knobs on the front of the panel as these also hold it in. Once it's all off, it should just slip right out.

I had the same problem as you - in my case, some of the adhesive to hold the labels on had "leaked" and was sticking to the control block as well, I just gently pried mine apart and nothing broke.
