Removed dash & got an electrical issue once re installed??

Well I removed the dash to removed the carpet for a new Transmission brace I had made since the old one started to crack my floor board. I then reinstalled everything back but noticed my dome light didn't work. The dash had to come out once more in a few days so I thought it was just a connector I may have forgotten. Later that night on the way to the track someone said my Taillights where out. So I started to check my fuses my taillight fuse was blown and so was my room fuse. I tryed to intall a new room fuse and the new one blew up right away. I then smelled something burning and smoke was coming from this connector.

Upon closed inspection the green/yellow wire and the Grey wire were both fused to the large RED/White wire.

Now I started to fix where they fused but I wondering if the problem could have happened else wear but the wires got to hot and melted there only. Or is this the source of the problem. Has anyone had anything alike or any tips for where else I should start to look.

Thanks

Look for wires that may be pinched from the dash mounting points. I would get the book out and look up those particular wires in the electrical drawings and use a meter to determine if they are going to ground.

If you havnt fixed it that wire looks like the fuel pump + wire back track the loom see if you find any other places that might be melted up, check ur inner guards too the loom in there gets cut up real easy.
