Removed air bag harness - trying to hook up the horns

Well, when I had the dash out of my car I got rid of the airbag harness.

When trying to get my horn work recently I figured out the wire I thought controlled the horns was literally going no where.

The wire that I have sticking out of my hub is green with a red stripe. I took off the column cover and noticed that this orange plug that I thought was air bag related is actually the same horn wire:
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-d...119_200457.jpg

Then it goes into the left side of this plug and turns into a green wire with orange stripe:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1...119_200622.jpg

This green wire with orange stripe travels around the harness like this:

The wire meets up with another green with orange stripe wire that came from the airbag ecu:

Then like an idiot I hacked off both horn wires a few feet after the previous connector:

I had the whole body harness of the car out and unloomed at one point. My question to anyone that might know is where do I start unwrapping to find these green with orange striped wires?

Thanks!

Look in Factory wiring diagram

lol, this is so weird. I have been going through the wiring diagram for a few days now. I deleted the airbag harness from my car, and now my horns don't work. Subbing to this as it will probably fix my problem as well.

I have the same problem...Deleted the airbag harness also.

OK so page Z-66 of the wiring diagram I found where I cut the G/O wires:
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-S.../s512/hron.jpg

The copy of the diagram isnt that great, but I was wondering if anyone can identify the connector X-? so I know where to look for the stray wire.

The diagram I have is for a 1994. The wiring it the same, but some things are laid out differently than the diagram you posted. On mine, it shows a G/O from the horn switches, passes through the airbag module, then G/O through X-09, the G/o to the horn relay, and G/R out to both horns.

Side question. I am still trying to figure out how to read the diagrams. How do you find the location of a connector? For instance, how would I find where X-09 is located?

I found the diagram you are looking at. My G/O wire is cut after the horn switches. I need to figure out if I can tap in before X-09 in this diagram:
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-T...s576/horn1.jpg

Here is a diagram that shows where the different connectors are and X-09 is down near the drivers side kick panel.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9...s640/horn2.jpg

Does anyone know which connector X-09 is? Is it even a connector?

Yea I figured out shortly after how to find the connectors. Could X-09 be one of those 2 big blue connectors that plug into the dash on the driver side? The (F) should indicate its the front harness (along the firewall), and the (AB) should indicate airbag harness. Perhaps its in the blue airbag connector that attaches right at the grommet where it passes through to the fender?

I'm not sure, I'm still trying to grasp these wiring diagrams.

^ You're right, the blue connector on X-09 carries the horn signal, as seen in these attachments. Grounding the AB diagnosis terminal should complete the circuit which will test the horn too. My horn relay got a bath which killed it :P

This is from the 93 wiring diagram; same thing but simplified and color differences.

lmk if the links don't work for you.

I removed my airbag recently and was trying to figure out what I removed that would make the horn not work. All I removed was the passenger side airbag itself, and the impact sensor and harness from the engine bay. With some guidance from Steve and Josh (XLR8), I simply cut the connector off my airbag harness, spliced the wires together, and plugged it back in. Works like a charm.

Just what I needed to find.

Oh I thought you were talking about the steering wheel airbag. For this I cut that connector off the airbag and spliced the wires together and plugged it back in. That's it.

My horns aren't working again and the only thing I did was remove the crash sensors from the front of the car. I don't imagine that would make them inop again though. I've checked all the fuses and they're good, I haven't checked the relay yet. I checked from the horn button to where it connects under the steering wheel and that part is good. If I can't figure this out without a hassle I'll just splice a wire from under the steering wheel to the horns.

After some more research I discovered why my horns aren't working, X09 is disconnected. I thought what I was looking at went to the crash sensors but those have 3 pins in the blue connector and X09 has 4. So now I'm wondering if I disconnected it for some reason and didn't need to.

EDIT: OK I'm an idiot. I found the connector X09 plugs into and the horns are working again lol. I'm not sure why I unplugged it, I guess I thought it was the crash sensor connector.
